All Dreams Matter!

Lately, I have heard so many people talking about having the wildest dreams and that they have had a major increase in them. Why is this happening? Are we being prepared for something? The World is changing rapidly before our eyes and I personally believe that dreams are not just dreams. They are messages from ourselves to ourselves. For many years there has been much controversy and misunderstanding about the dream domain. Science has tried to figure this mysterious realm out but have only scratched the surface of their true purpose and potential. As an avid dreamer myself, I have studied them for years. I learned fairly early in life that there was much more to them than meets the eye.

I knew there was something really special about them when I started dreaming about events before they happened or dreamed about where items I had lost were, only to wake up the next morning and go straight to the item. At times I dreamed about Angels, Jesus, Ra and other major spiritual figures and felt as though I had actually been with them during my rest. These dreams felt so real and when I woke from them I felt amazing and refreshed and sometimes even healed in them. I have had out of body experiences in my dreams and traveled to mysterious worlds and other dimensions. They are also means in which departed loved ones will come to visit. Dreams help us solve problems, invent, inspire, and create. I believe this is the very reason we should pay very close attention to them and begin learning as much as we can about them.

The Webster's definition of a dream is: "a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep." Wikipedia states:" A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. The content and function of dreams are not fully understood, although they have been a topic of scientific, philosophical and religious interest throughout recorded history. Dream interpretation is the attempt at drawing meaning from dreams and searching for an underlying message. The scientific study of dreams is called oneirology." I believe that dreams are like our very own inner counselor. Our unconscious mind is revealing to us hints and keys for our personal development, healing and sometimes issues warnings. It is important to realize that dreams are very rarely meant to be interpreted as literal. One example of a literal dream could be that during the day while you were shopping you left your wallet at the store. You went home and had not realized that this happened. When you go to bed that evening you dream of being in a store and leave your wallet. When you wake the next morning you realize that you left your wallet at the store therefore you go to the store to find your wallet exactly where the dream showed you it was. Leaving your wallet had escaped your conscious mind but it did not escape your unconscious mind. Our unconscious mind is constantly receiving thousands to millions of images and impressions throughout our day.

The most common dreams are meant to be interpreted metaphorically. All symbols have meaning. A dream dictionary is very helpful in this respect, For example; "Sigmund Freud carried out much research into what houses mean in our dreams. A house from a dream psychology perspective represents 'thy self' therefore, the house represents your own personality and also a social image. The spiritual meaning of a house is much more focused on transformation and the condition of the house is really important." Each room in the house also represents different aspects of yourself. The kitchen is known as the place of spiritual nourishment, warmth, transformation and healing. If the kitchen is well stocked then this is a sign of prosperity. An empty kitchen could imply that its time to save some money for a rainy day. If you see a kitchen that is messy then this could be a sign that you need to clean your life up a bit because things are very chaotic at the moment. Perhaps your unconscious mind is letting you know that you are feeling overwhelmed by everything life is throwing at you. Sometimes symbols can hold very different meanings to different people; a cross to one individual may mean something entirely different to another. Maybe one person loves spiders and another hates them because they were bit by one. The dreamer that loves them would find this comforting in the dream where the dreamer that had been bitten by one would most likely experience anxiety.

When interpreting dreams it is important to pay attention to every detail. Ask yourself these questions; Was it day or night? Dawn or Dusk? Who else was in the dream? This can give you hints about the time period this dream may be referring to. If you see people from your past then it could be a sign that this dream is from that period of your life. If you don't recognize anyone then it could be a sign of a future event. What colors are present or is it in black and white? What smells? What emotions did you experience? This aspect is very revealing. Were there any animals? If so, they could be one of your spirit guides. Pay attention to if the animals are docile or angry. Do you feel safe with them or not? Guides will always bring safety and warmth. Did you hear or taste anything?

I get asked all the time what can I do to increase my dreams? The first thing I suggest is starting a dream journal. It has been proven to increase your dreams. One reason for this is that you are setting intention to remember your dreams when you start a journal. The unconscious mind now knows that you intend to take its messages seriously. It is helpful to keep this by your bed so that you can write them down right after you awake from a dream. If you wake a lot in the middle of the night from a dream and don't want to completely wake yourself then you can use a voice recorder to record it and then go back to sleep. Journaling is also helpful to work on your interpretations in and they are always fun to look back on in the future to see how much you've grown.

The second tip I would suggest is reading books or watching movies on dreams. This simple act gets the topic in our minds and is likely to produce more dreams. Setting intention of course is very important. Drinking hot teas before bedtime is a great way to relax yourself while setting the intention to dream and to remember them. My favorite dream producer is mugwort tea and it has been used for centuries.

Also, your melatonin levels are absolutely important. These days many humans are lacking in this natural hormone released by our brains because we have so many lights on in our homes as we are going to bed. This hormone is released as the sun goes down to prepare us for sleep. If we go to bed with the television running or nightlights shinning it will slow this release down. This also has a huge impact on our third eye chakra and when the third eye chakra is healthy you will have much more impactful dreams. With that said, it is advisable to work on the third eye chakra on a regular basis. This can be done by meditation, Reiki, chanting, frequencies and much more. Avoiding fluoride is also very important because this calcifies the pineal gland and this hinders the third eye chakra.

The last suggestion I have to increase your dreams is to purchase some crystals and sleep with them by your bed. You can create a dream pillow with the intention to increase your dreams. The stones I suggest for this are: amethyst, danburite, purple fluorite, lepidolite, rainbow moonstone, scolecite. I also suggest selenite which protects against: Stress, insomnia, nightmares and negative energy. These stones bring so much serenity, peace, purification and better sleep. Last but certainly not least is the herkimer diamond quartz which is a powerful record-keeper and can be used to aid you in remembering your dreams. There are many other crystals that can be used for improving dreams and recall.

I hope that this article encourages you to start taking your dream life more seriously. I have much more to say on this topic. My dreams have always been a great adventure in my life. They have revealed so much to me about myself. The more I have paid attention to them them, the more I got. I am teaching myself how to Lucid dream which is one of the most powerful tools we can use. It is a skill of a master. Many famous people of history learned how to lucid dream and attest to using them to create their masterpieces. Some of these people include; Albert Einstein, Nikola Tesla, Salvador Dali, Chris Nolan, James Cameron, Thomas Edison and Abraham Lincoln. We all know what wonderful creations these people had and how they have changed our World. I wonder what we could create if we would start learning how to use these dreams to our advantage. In my next article I will discuss this topic.
